Stair and step requirements
Yes. Stairclimbers can be operated on many designs of staircases, whether they are inside or outside steps.
Our stairclimbers can be used for many types of narrow stairs but it depends on their exact measurements. We have a comprehensive product chooser page which will help, or you can email photos and measurements to sales@baronmead.com and we will advise the best solution for you.
Yes, one of the benefits of stairclimbers is that they can be used on spiral staircases.
Stairclimber Features
A fully-charged stairclimber battery can operate for up to 1000 steps depending which model you own. Refer to our product guide comparison table to find out more.
All stairclimbers are supplied with a battery charger.
You need a power point to recharge the stairclimber battery after use.
Some stair climber models, such as the Scalacombi and Scalamobil, can be dismantled for easy transport. This means they can fit into the boot of a car, allowing you to take the stair climber to different locations and use it wherever it’s needed. Demonstrations and training
No. Baronmead provides free on-site demonstrations for new customers.
No. Baronmead provides advice and free no-obligation demonstrations. One of our trained consultants will visit your site to assess your stairs, steps and operator requirements. This will ensure we can recommend the right stairclimber which will be perfect for your needs.
Operator training will be carried out on delivery of your stairclimber and may take up to two hours.
Stairclimber operator requirements
While we generally advise that operators be at least 18 years old, suitability really depends on the individual. Our instructor will provide full training on using the stairclimber. If the operator is comfortable and demonstrates they can use it safely, they will be approved to operate it; if not, we will advise against use.
There is no upper age limit – in fact, we’ve had an 84-year-old customer who safely helps his wife up and down the stairs every day!
You need to be an active capable person to operate the units. We usually advise that if you are able to push someone in a wheelchair then you should be able to use a stair climber.
We would strongly recommend that anyone who needs to operate a stairclimber should undertake a training session with us. If multiple people need to be able to operate a stairclimber then we would recommend our Train The Trainer training so that you are able to deliver the training yourself for new operators when needed.

Delivery is usually between 3-10 days from receipt of order. If you need a stairclimber urgently, please contact us on 01243 586692 and we will try and deliver immediately.
If you order a Stairmatic today then they can generally be delivered within 24 hours in the UK. We always do our best to respond when orders are required urgently.
Warranty and maintenance
Every new stairclimber comes with a 1 or 2 year warranty depending on the model. Each reconditioned stairclimber comes with 6 months warranty, excluding batteries and brakes.
Baronmead follows the servicing guidelines recommended by each stairclimber manufacturer. Our team is fully trained to service, maintain, and repair all the models we supply, ensuring your stairclimber stays safe and reliable.
Baronmead tailors its servicing contracts to suit each customer’s needs. Typical service intervals are every 6 months for heavy-use situations, or annually for lighter use. In addition, our responsive team is always just a phone call or email away if you need assistance between scheduled visits.
