How Baronmead Goes the Extra Mile for Stairclimber Solutions

At Baronmead, we believe in more than just selling stairclimbers; we’re dedicated to providing solutions that empower people to live comfortably and independently in their own homes. Recently, we received a heartwarming letter from a customer in Devon that perfectly encapsulates this commitment. Their story highlights the lengths we go to ensure the right fit, even when faced with complex challenges.

Linda, our customer, contacted us in August 2024 with an enquiry about a stairclimber. From the initial photos and measurements, the configuration of her staircase presented a significant hurdle. The sharp turn seemed to make a stairclimber installation impossible. Many companies might have stopped there, but at Baronmead, we believe in exploring every avenue.

Overcoming Challenges, One Staircase at a Time

“Initially, it was thought that the configuration of my staircase would not be suitable for the use of a stair climber,” Linda wrote. “However, to discount any doubt that this option was not a possibility, you travelled down to me in Devon to physically ‘have a go’ with the stair climber and so ascertain for certain whether or not it would be feasible. How brilliant was that?”

This “won’t know for certain until we try” attitude is at the heart of our approach. We understood the importance of finding a solution for Linda and her husband, enabling them to stay in their beloved retirement home. So, we sent our engineer, Stuart, to Devon.

Personalised Service and Expert Advice

Stuart’s visit proved crucial. He took the time to understand Linda’s specific needs and the intricacies of her staircase. This hands-on assessment allowed him to determine that, despite the challenging turn, a stairclimber was indeed possible. “I am delighted that the Scalacombi Stairclimber we supplied to the family was the perfect fit all round for seating comfort and use on the stairs,” Stuart commented. “It is very pleasing that our stairclimber now allows the family to carry on living in their dream retirement home and village in Devon.”

But our service didn’t stop there. Stuart personally delivered the stairclimber and provided comprehensive training to Linda. “Stuart – you were wonderful! So patient, knowledgeable and friendly – instilling a confidence in the operation of the stairclimber whilst accentuating any issues that needed special consideration,” Linda expressed in her letter.

This dedication to personalised service is something we pride ourselves on. As Graham White, Managing Director of Baronmead, explains, “It was fantastic to receive Linda’s letter. It is very satisfying when our team’s ethos for hard work and attention to detail is appreciated by our customers. Our years of stairclimber experience tell us that everybody has different needs and requirements. At Baronmead we listen, absorb the customer’s requirements and advise the best stairclimber solution available for each situation accordingly.”

Empowering Independence With Stairclimbers

Linda’s story is a testament to the Baronmead difference. We don’t just sell stairclimbers; we provide tailored solutions, expert advice, and unwavering support. We understand that each staircase, and each individual, is unique. That’s why we go the extra mile, quite literally in Linda’s case, to ensure the perfect fit. Because, at the end of the day, our goal is to help people live their lives to the fullest, both “onward and upward,” and safely back down again.

As Linda concluded, “I really cannot thank you all enough – dealing with you has been an absolute pleasure and the ethos under which you work has been so very much appreciated.” And for us, that’s the greatest reward of all.
